The University of Utah women's swimming and diving team completed another championship season, finishing with a perfect regular season record of 10-0 (8-0 in MWC competition). Utah continued its recent dominance, extending its dual-meet winning streak to 23 conference dual meets. The Utes haven't lost a dual meet since November 4, 2005 against Denver and the last conference loss came at BYU, on January 30, 2004.

This season Utah opened the season with a win against Denver, avenging a loss last season, with a score of 176.5-104.5. The Utes then rolled through UC San Diego and conference foes UNLV and San Diego State on their way to the Ohio State Invitational. At the OSU Invitational, Utah set four school records including Amber Walter swimming the 50 free in 22.59 to qualify her for the NCAA Championships. Also Alison McInturff broke the record for the 200 free in 1:48.26 and Shannon McQueen beat her previous school record in the 100 back with a time of 56.09. Utah finished third as a team at the OSU Invitational.

During the second half of the season Utah was as strong as ever, winning three consecutive road meets against TCU, Colorado State and New Mexico. The Utes then handed Wyoming its first loss of the conference season and knocked off Air Force, setting up a showdown with and undefeated BYU, for the regular season conference crown. The dual-meet became a classic as the Utes and Cougars battled down to the wire. Utah eventually clinched its fourth straight title winning on the final event where the 400-free relay team won, giving the Utes a 157.5-142.5 victory.

At the 2007 MWC Championships, the Utes won several events but in the end came up just short of a repeat championship, finishing second. Walter swept her individual events winning the 50 free (22.51), 100 free (50.09) and 100 breast (1:02.54). Walter's 50 free time broke the MWC record that she previously held. The 200-free relay team of Walter, McIntruff, Annie VanLeeuwen and Jennifer Fredsall set a new MWC record with a time of 1:31.93.

Seniors, Walter and Patterson were named MWC Swimmer and Diver of the Year, respectively.

At the 2007 NCAA Championships, McInturff broke a school record and became Utah's first All-American since 2000. McInturff placed 10th in the 200 free with a time of 1:46.56 to earn an NCAA All-American acolade. The Utes as a team finished 41st at the Championships.
