This Week
The University of Utah women's tennis team heads to Fort Collins, Colo. this weekend to face conference opponents Colorado State, Air Force, and Wyoming. Colorado State will be hosting the matches at Rolland Moore Park.
The Opposition
The Utes will face the Colorado State Rams on Friday at 2:00 p.m. The Rams, who hold a 5-6 overall record, will be led by Emily Kirchem, who maintains an 11-7 season record. Last week, the Rams posted a 6-1 win over California State Northridge. In the first matches of conference play, the team fell to No. 56 UNLV (0-7) and No. 74 San Diego State (2-5).
U.S.Air Force Academy will take on the Utes on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. The Falcons hold an 8-9 season record and are led by Lauren Wilson (17-15 overall) at the No. 1 slot. The squad also faced No. 56 UNLV and No. 74 San Diego State last week. They fell 0-7 to both the Rebels and the Aztecs.
Finishing out the weekend, the Utes will face Wyoming at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. The Cowboys are currently 5-9 for the season and are led by Karolina Rowinski, who has posted a 9-14 record this season. Last week, the squad fell 1-6 to both the Rebels and Aztecs.
Ute Notes
The University of Utah women's tennis team has posted a 10-6 overall record this season and is 0-1 in conference play after falling 3-4 to No. 33 BYU. Leading the Utes this weekend is Elizabeth Ferris who has posted 25-4 overall record and is undefeated in dual matches with a 13-0 record. Last week, the Utes posted a 7-0 win over Dixie State and Southern Utah University in St. George, Utah. Ending the week, the Utes faced No. 52 Oklahoma State in a home match for a 1-4 loss.
