This Week
The University of Utah women's tennis team will be hosting the TCU Horned Frogs on Friday and the New Mexico Lobos on Saturday. Both matches will be played at Liberty Park Tennis Center in Salt Lake City barring any bad weather.
The Opposition
The Horned Frogs are currently ranked No. 32 in the nation with a 12-7 overall record and are undefeated in conference play thus far at 3-0. The squad has three ranked singles players and one ranked doubles team. Ana Cetnik is ranked No. 43 in the nation with a 17-8 overall record. Anna Sydorska is ranked No. 58 by the ITA with a 18-8 season record. Nina Munch-Soegaard holds a No. 93 national ranking with an overall record of 19-5. Cetnik and Sydorska team up in doubles play at the No. 1 slot and are currently ranked No. 6 in the country. The Horned Frogs are coming off of two victories from last week: No. 65 San Diego State (6-1) and No. 50 UNLV (5-2).
The Lobos currently hold a No. 69 national ranking by the ITA with a 7-9 season record and are 0-3 in conference play. Leading the squad is No. 119 Ola Abou-Zekry that has a 23-6 overall record. Last week, New Mexico fell to No. 50 UNLV (1-6) and No. 65 San Diego State (2-5).
Ute Notes
The University of Utah women's tennis team is currently 13-6 in dual matches and is 3-1 in conference play. The Utes are led by Elizabeth Ferris at the No. 1 slot. Ferris is currently undefeated in dual matches with a 16-0 record (28-4 overall). Last week, the Utes defeated Colorado State (6-1), Air Force (6-1), and Wyoming (6-1).
