Ferris Earns MWC Player of the Week

SALT LAKE CITY - Elizabeth Ferris, a member of the women's tennis team, was named the Mountain West Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the fourth time during her career at the U on Wednesday.
Ferris, a senior and native to Anaheim, Calif., opened the spring season with a big bang last weekend. The Ute pulled out a 6-2, 3-6, 7-5 upset over the nation's top-ranked player, Arkansas' Aurelija Miseviciute. The Lady Razorback was fresh off winning the singles crown at the National Indoor Championships Nov. 1-4, 2007 in Columbus, Ohio.
"It was a very deserving honor for Liz," said head coach Mat Iandolo. "She has worked hard and put it all on the line for the Utes for the last three and a half years."
