Utah Women's Tennis Set To Open Dual Match Season

SALT LAKE CITY - The 50th-ranked University of Utah women's tennis team opens dual match competition this week Thursday at 2:30 p.m. against No. 44 Washington State at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center. The Utes will then host Washington (38) Sunday at 12 p.m.
"To have Washington State and Washington coming to our home courts for our opening matches presents a great challenge," said head coach Mat Iandolo. "But it is one that I think we are ready for. Both matches should be hard fought, intense affairs. I feel we'll do very well and in the process set us up for what is on the horizon."
Utah is coming off an appearance at the Virginia Invitational where the team netted two singles wins and three doubles victories.
This will be the first dual match meeting between Utah and Washington since March 2002. As of January 20 WSU is 2-0 in dual match play and UW is 1-0.
