SALT LAKE CITY- The 53rd-ranked Utah women's tennis (6-5) heads to Las Vegas to go head to head 35th-ranked Ohio State (8-6) at the Darling Tennis Center Monday, March 23, at 11:00 a.m. PT.
"We are looking forward to the opportunity of competing against Ohio State," said head coach Mat Iandolo. "They are one of the premiere programs in the mid-west, and a team that I became very familiar with during my 16 years of coaching in the Big 10."
The Utes are coming off a successful run at the Barnes Collegiate Women's Invitational in San Diego, Calif., where they had wins over New Mexico State and Texas Tech before falling to 44th-ranked Ole Miss in the finals. The Buckeyes are coming off a 4-3 win over Purdue.
The only meeting between Utah and Ohio State was 21 years ago, where the Utes came away with an 8-1 win. This will be the last action for Utah before beginning conference play later in the week.
