Utes Set for Two MWC Road Matches
SALT LAKE CITY- Sophomore Anastasia Putilina of the 42nd-ranked University of Utah women's tennis team (14-6, 6-0) moved into the national singles rankings at No. 83 in the latest poll released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Tuesday, April 13. This is Putilina's first national ranking of her collegiate career.
"It says a lot about Anastasia and how hard she has worked to develop a much more well-rounded game," said head coach Mat Iandolo. "This ranking is a payoff for that."
Last week Putilina, a native of Belgorod, Russia, was named the Mountain West Conference Women's Tennis Co-Player of the Week after upsetting two top 50-ranked opponents at the No. 1 singles position.
Putilina and the rest of the Ute squad face New Mexico and TCU this weekend in Albuquerque.
