2011 NCAA West Region/RMISA Championships Complete Results

Maria Graefnings turned in her second podium finish of the meet and the University of Utah skiing team took second place at the NCAA West Region/Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Skiing Association Championships on Saturday at Park City Mountain Resort and Soldier Hollow Resort.
The Utes took second place in the team standings after finishing the event with 790 points. Colorado took home the NCAA Regional and RMISA crowns for the second consecutive season after totaling 865.5 points. Following Utah's runner-up finish, New Mexico finished third with 777.5 points, while Denver claimed fourth place (749 points). Alaska-Anchorage was the fifth-place finisher with 747 points, followed by Montana State's sixth-place total of 615 points. Westminster College took seventh place in the overall team standings (383 points).
The final alpine event of the meet, the women's slalom, was canceled due to inclement weather on Saturday afternoon. As a result, Friday's women's slalom results were counted twice into the team score calculations.
Graefnings helped Utah take second in the women's 15k classical at the Soldier Hollow Resort in Midway, Utah, with 109 points by placing second in the individual standings with a time of 56:31.8.
Graefnings has turned in nine podium finishes in 10 races this season after taking third place in the freestyle race.
Zoe Roy joined Graefnings on the podium with a third-place effort with a time of 57:02.5. Marta Larsen placed sixth with a time of 57:55.7 to complete Utah's scoring. Parker Tyler claimed 19th at 1:01:17.8 while Sarah MacCarthy finished 20th 1:01:22.3. Madeleine Talkington took 28th with a time of 1:05:17.8.
On the men's side in a 20k classical race, the Utes were third with 92 points. Miles Havlick led the way with a fifth-place finish in the individual standings at 1:07:24.9, followed by Didrik Smith in 11th (1:09:34.4) and Ian Havlick in 21st (1:14:41.5).
In the alpine events at the Park City Mountain Resort, Torjus Krogdahl turned in a team-high 12th-place finish in the men's giant slalom at 1:53.96, while Eian Sandvik followed in 16th at 1:54.45.
The Utes will complete their 2011 season at the NCAA Championships March 9-12 in Stowe, Vt. At last season's NCAA Championships, the Utes took fourth place led by Eva Huckova, who won the women's NCAA giant slalom title.
