No. 52 Utes Host Pair of Dual-Matches...
The 52nd-ranked University of Utah women's tennis team (2-2) will host No. 75 Wyoming (4-3) and Wisconsin (5-1) this weekend, at the Eccles Tennis Center.
"We are looking forward to playing Wyoming," said head coach Mat Iandolo. "They are having a great year and we have had several very competitive with them the past few years. This match will help us find out where we are right now in the season.
"We cannot overlook Wisconsin either," Iandolo continued. "They have a great program history and they are a very competitive Big Ten team."
The Utes face the Cowgirls Friday, Feb. 17, at 2 p.m. MT, before taking on the Badgers Sunday, Feb 19, at 11 a.m. MT. Utah is 21-1 at the Eccles Tennis Center since March 2009.

Scouting Wyoming...
The 75th-ranked Cowgirls went 2-1 last weekend in a trio of matches in Los Angeles, Calif. Wyoming upset 39th-ranked Long Beach State 4-3, before falling to 56th-ranked UC Irvine 4-3. The Cowgirls then bounced back to defeat Loyola Marymount 5-2.
Last Year against the Cowgirls...
Last year Utah defeated Wyoming 4-3 in Salt Lake City. After dropping the doubles point, the Utes rallied in singles to capture their seventh -straight regular-season victory over the Cowgirls. Sophomore Sarah Pham clinched the match for Utah, after senior Anastasia Putilina, junior Paige Miles and former Ute Evgenia Kryuchkova had secured its first three points. The Utes have won 10 of their last 12 regular-season meetings with the Cowgirls.
Scouting Wisconsin...
The Badgers split their matches at home last weekend, dropping a 5-2 decision to DePaul, before upsetting 37th-ranked North Carolina State 6-1.
Last Weekend's Sweep of the Wolf Pack and the Pioneers...
Against Nevada...
After going 3-0 in doubles, the Utes swept all six of their singles matches for the 7-0 win over a Wolf Pack. Freshman Danielle Flores earned the match clinching point by defeating Juliette Legendre 6-2, 7-6(4) at the No. 4 singles spot. The duo of Putilina and sophomore Callie Craig captured the doubles point for Utah after topping Michelle Okhremchuk and Rymma Maslova 8-3 at the No. 1 doubles position.
Against Denver...
The Utes defeated the Pioneers, 7-0, after going 6-0 in singles and 3-0 in doubles. Craig captured the match-clinching point for Utah by besting Steffi Rath 6-1, 6-2, at the No. 3 singles spot. The team of Pham and sophomore Lucia Kovarcikova secured the doubles point for Utah by besting Natalie Dunn and Caroline Schnell at the No. 2 doubles position 8-3.
Utes in the ITA Rankings...
Utah is currently ranked No. 52 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll. Putilina came in at No. 90 in the first singles rankings of the season.
