Utes Host Inaugural Home Pac-12 Matches
SALT LAKE CITY- The University of Utah women's tennis team (7-3, 0-0 Pac-12) jumped up five spots to No.28 in the latest Campbell's/ITA College Tennis Rankings, released Tuesday. This is the Utes' highest midseason ranking since 1991, when they held a national ranking of No. 20.
"One of our goals is to be a top 30 team," said head coach Mat Iandolo. "Being in the top 30 puts us in some elite company, but we belong there and it's up to us to prove it the rest of the year and to push higher."
This week's move into the top 30 follows last week's milestone of moving into the top 35.
The Utes host fifth-ranked Stanford in their inaugural home Pac-12 Friday, at 1:30 p.m. MT, at the Eccles Tennis Center followed by 10th-ranked Cal Sunday, at 11 a.m. MT
