SALT LAKE CITY - Ally Dickman, Hailey Hilburn and Maddie Roth have signed National Letters of Intent to play softball for the University of Utah beginning in the spring of 2016, head coach
Amy Hogue announced Friday.
ALLY DICKMAN Position: OF
Bats/Throws: L/R
Hometown: Mission Viego, Calif.
High School: Capistrano Valley High School
Club Team: Orange County Batbusters (Coach Ken Briggs)
In her junior season at Capistrano Valley High School under head coach Mark Kendrick, Ally recorded a .495 batting average and .514 on-base percentage with 50 hits that went for 16 doubles, four triples and three home runs. She scored 26 runs and knocked in 24 runs as well, while earning first team all-league honors and was league MVP nominee. As a freshman, Ally hit .348 with 31 hits and she drove in four runs with 19 runs scored.
Ally is the daughter of Tom and Donna Dickman. She has five siblings, Kate, Matthew, Emily, Tommy and Daniel. Her sister Kate is a current senior outfielder for the Utes.
Ally on choosing Utah: "I chose Utah because of the opportunity to compete at the highest level, playing softball in the Pac-12, while getting my education from a great university. The weather is a plus and the state is beautiful."
Coach Hogue on Dickman: "We have watched Ally probably more than any recruit we've ever had," said Utah head coach
Amy Hogue. "She's a great athlete. She is a proven offensive threat and fills a need for us with tons of experience in the outfield."
HAILEY HILBURN Position: RHP

Hometown: Orange, Calif.
High School: Canyon High School
Club Team: California Cruisers (Coach Mel Sievers)
In her time first three seasons at Canyon High School under head coach Dan Hay, Hailey has collected 53 wins inside the circle with a career earned run average of 1.67. She has tallied 428 strikeouts in 510 innings of work and opposing players are hitting just .202 off her. Offensively, Hailey has a career .241 batting average with 51 hits that have gone for 11 doubles, a triple and eight home runs to go along with 13 runs scored and 34 runs batted in. She is a two-time all-county selection and three-time all-century league honoree as well. Hailey was a second team all-state selection following her junior season after helping guide her team to the semifinal game in the Division I CIF playoffs.
Hailey is the daughter of Todd and Kimberly Hilburn and she has one sister, Holly. Hailey plans on majoring in business administration while attending Utah.
Hailey on choosing Utah: "I chose Utah not only for the great institution that it is and the beauty that surrounds the campus, but for the promise and opportunity to define myself as a person and to be a part of the bigger things that are in store for this softball program."
Coach Hogue on Hilburn: "I'm excited to put Hailey in the circle against the highest level of softball in the country," said Hogue. "I've seen her beat some of the best hitters around. She is a competitor and can help her team win games with her pitching and with her bat."
MADDIE ROTH Position: C/1B/3B
Bats/Throws: R/R
Hometown: Anaheim, Calif.
High School: Esperanza High School
Club Team: SoCal Choppers (Coach Dean and Gary Fausett)
During her career at Esperanza High School under head coach Ed Tunstall, Maddie has tallied a career batting average of .360 with eight homeruns and 81 runs batted in. She is a two-time all-league selection, which includes earning first team honors following her junior season. Maddie was a top-15 Orange County player as a freshman and she has helped guide her team to three league championships.
Maddie is the daughter of Joe and Amie Roth and she has one sister, Kelsea, who currently plays softball at Missouri.
Maddie on choosing Utah: "I chose Utah because the atmosphere was so welcoming and everything about the university appealed to me."
Coach Hogue on Roth: "Maddie is a strong player both physically and mentally," said Hogue. "She is smart and will add depth to the catching position. She has the potential to hit for power and is a tough competitor."
