SALT LAKE CITY – The No. 17-ranked Utah women's cross country team heads to the Pac-12 Conference Championships this Friday, Oct. 28, in Tucson, Ariz. Utah will compete in the six-kilometer race at the Randolph North Golf Course scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. MST.
"The Pac-12 meet is unequivocally the best conference championship meet in the country," head coach
Kyle Kepler said. "It should make for a very interesting meet. It is truly going to be a battle down in Tucson, Ariz."
Tape-delayed coverage of the championships will air on the Pac-12 Networks on Monday, Oct. 31, 2016 at 6 p.m. PT.

"We will be ready to go, we always are. These kids are super excited and the coaching staff is really excited about this race so hopefully we continue to ride the momentum," Kepler stated. "We have gotten better and better all year and we like to think we perform our best at the time of the year it counts the most."
SCOUTING THE FIELD
Hosted by the University of Arizona, the Pac-12 Conference Championship will include seven nationally ranked teams from the latest U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association national poll. Along with No. 17 Utah, No.1-overall ranked Colorado, No. 2 Washington, No. 5 Oregon, No. 11 Stanford, No. 23 UCLA, and No. 25 California are slated to compete on Friday.
MAKING HISTORY IN POLLS
Utah was ranked No. 17 in the USTFCCA national poll marking the highest ranking in the history of the women's cross country program. The Utes have now been ranked for four straight weeks and have either received votes or been ranked for the entire season. Utah is also ranked third in the Mountain Region and will face off with Colorado on Friday, who is ranked first in the Mountain Region.
LAST TIME OUT
Utah competed at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational where they recorded a seventh place finish in a field that included 17 of the top-30 teams in the nation. Murphy finished in 20
th place and McInturff notched a 35th place finish.
