Utes conclude first day at brown classic

Providence, R.I.—In the first day of competition at the Brown Classic, Utah Women's Tennis faced off against host Brown in both doubles and singles competition. The Utes had a tough first round, as they went 2-2 in doubles competition and 2-5 in singles on the day.

Victoria Robertson recorded two wins on the day, as she defeated Victoria Traynor in singles competition, 6-3, 6-0, and Traynor and Nandu Mendlap in doubles competition, 6-0, with fellow Ute Luisa Gerstner da Rosa.
Taylor Calton and Jena Cheng recorded the second doubles win on the day over Maddie Stearns and Devon Jack, 6-2. Alexia Petrovic recorded a singles win on the day over Jack, 6-4, 6-2.

The Utes will face Boston College beginning at 1 p.m.on Saturday followed by a combined team of Arkansas and Yale on Sunday.
