PITCHING WORKSHOP
On Monday, December 19, Utah will hold a pair of Pitching Workshops at Dumke Family Softball Stadium. Registration is open to anyone for a fee of $150. Pitchers will receive an hour of quality instruction from the University of Utah pitching staff. Pitchers will learn a variety of drills to improve speed, movement, and accuracy.Â
2016 NEW YEARS EVE ELITE SHOWCASE CAMP + ALL SKILLS KIDS CAMP
On December 30-31, Utah will hold its Elite Showcase and All Skills Kids Camp at Spence Eccles Field House. Registration is open to anyone for a fee of $195. Quality instruction in fundamentals of all areas of the game will be conducted for two days. Utah Softball coaches, current Utes, and guest coaches will be working with camp participants.Â
The campers will be split into two groups (Elite/All Skills) based off of age. The New Year's Eve elite showcase camp is designed for advanced players who want to showcase their skills in drills and scrimmages. The all skills camp is for players that want to develop their skills, learn fundamentals, and scrimmage. There will be a defensive and an offensive portion of the camp for both groups. Â
The hitting session covers the fundamentals of the swing and continues through more advanced approaches by the second day. Drill work and practice plans are introduced to players so that they can personalize their drill work to help with their own swing.Â
The defensive session provides the campers the opportunity to choose a position and also learn general defensive skills.Â
