Utah Ski Building Wins Building Industry Awards

SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah Spence Eccles Ski Team Building has been honored with several building industry awards. Engineering News-Record Mountain States named the ski building the Best Project in the Intermountain Sports/Entertainment category. In addition, the building was selected as one of the 2017 Most Outstanding Projects by Utah Construction & Design magazine in the sports/recreation category.
Construction began on the two-story, 5,931 square-foot building in June, 2016, and opened in April, 2017. The highlight of the facility includes a work room with tuning tables and ski and boot storage for each team. Other amenities include a film study room and lounge, custom locker rooms for dry gear storage, a board room for meetings and balcony with views of the mountains, as well as covered parking for ski team vehicles.
