SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah indoor track and field team heads north this Saturday, Dec. 9, to compete in the Jackson's Open. Hosted by Boise State University, the event will take place in Nampa, Idaho at the Jacksons Indoor Track Facility at the Ford Sports Center.
Representing the Utes at the Jackson's Open will include senior sprinters
Alissa Atisme,
Grace Englund, and
Rhianna Williams. Atisme holds two indoor school records in the 55 (7.18) and 200 (24.56). Atisme also ranks second all-time in the indoor 60 (7.74) and third in the 400 (55.74). Englund ranks ninth all-time in the indoor 400 (56.54 and holds a school record as a member of the 4x400 relay team. Last year at this event, Englund placed second in the 800 and second in the 4x400 relay. Williams holds the school record in the indoor 400 (54.46) and ranks second in the indoor 200 (24.95).
"These guys are going to run some longer sprint events and try to take advantage of a 200-meter banked track," head coach
Kyle Kepler said. "We are certainly excited to see what those three can do as they begin their senior year."
