Nebraska led 4-0 after the top of the fourth, taking a 1-0 lead in the first with the help of two singles and an error, while scoring three runs in the fourth following three hits and two walks.

Utah's defense held the remainder of the way but the Ute bats struggled to get anything going. Utah stranded two on in the fifth after

Nebraska put two on in the seventh following a pair of one-out singles before a double play ground out got Utah out of the inning. The Huskers stranded two in the ninth following a pair of singles and an attempted squeeze play failed after some heads-up defense from Simmons. Gulden led off the ninth with a single for Utah but a strikeout, fly out and ground out ended the game.
Utah was 3-1 during the Pac-12/Big 10 Challenge, winning two games over Ohio State and splitting a pair of contests against Nebraska.
The Utes return to the diamond next weekend for a four-game series against UTSA beginning on Friday, March 3, at 5:00 p.m. MT.
