SALT LAKE CITY – University of Utah women's tennis hosts four teams in a full weekend of matches.

They will open the weekend against Houston on Mar. 23 at 1:30 p.m. followed by Washington on Mar. 24 at 1:30 p.m. for their first Pac-12 Conference match at home. They will also face Washington State at 11 a.m. and Washington State at 4 p.m. for a double-header on Mar. 26. All matches will be played at the Eccles Tennis Center.

Utah notes
Last time out, the Utes (4-3, 1-1 Pac-12) fell to the NC State Wolfpack at home in a close 4-3 match.
Margo Pletcher,
Brianna Turley, and
Whitney Turley all picked up singles wins in two sets, but the Utes ultimately lost the match after losing the doubles point and three difficult singles matches. In their first weekend of conference play, the Utes fell to the Arizona State Sun Devils, 4-0 before defeating the Arizona Wildcats in a close 4-3 decision.

Houston
The Houston Cougars (8-8, 1-2 AAC) come to Utah after starting their spring schedule 2-2 with victories against Prairie View A&M, 4-0, and Abilene Christian, 5-2, and defeats to UT Arlington, 4-2, and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 4-3. They suffered a four-match losing streak through the end of February before picking up a solid road win at Kansas State, 4-2. The Cougars picked up consecutive wins at Illinois State, 4-1, Bowling Green, 6-1, and UConn, 5-2, before falling to Memphis at home, 4-2.

Washington
The Washington Huskies (11-4, 0-1 Pac-12) went 6-0 in January, recording wins on the road over Hawaii, 6-1, Kansas State, 7-0, Alabama, 4-5, and Illinois, 5-2, before returning home to defeat Portland and Seattle, both by a score of 6-1. After two consecutive losses in the beginning of February, they picked up four dominant wins to close out the month. The Huskies are 0-1 in Pac-12 play after a close 3-4 loss at home to the Oregon Ducks.

Washington State
The Washington State Cougars (9-6, 0-1 Pac-12) started the spring season with a series of wins at home, including three 7-0 victories over Seattle, Eastern Washington, and Montana and a 5-2 win over Montana State. They are 7-1 at home after also defeating Idaho, 5-2 and a pair of 4-3 wins over DePaul and Fresno State in February. The Cougars have had a difficult March after 0-4 losses at No. 7 Oklahoma State and UNLV and a home conference loss to Oregon.

Weber State
The Weber State Wildcats (1-10, 1-2 Big Sky) have had a difficult run this spring, with their lone win coming at home against Portland State, 4-3. The Wildcats have dropped difficult conference matches at home against North Dakota, 3-4, and at Sacramento State, 1-4.
