FRANCONIA, N.H. - Sam Dupratt and
Roni Remme finished on the podium in the giant slalom races for Utah on the first day of the NCAA skiing championships, as the Utes stand second after day one of competition. The Utes had four All-Americans on the day.
In the women's GS, Remme earned her second-straight All-America honor in the giant slalom with a third-place finish. It was her third podium finish of the season.
Chloe Fausa finished eighth to become a four-time All-American in the event.
Julie Mohagen did not finish her second run.
For the men, Dupratt had the fastest first run of the day to ultimately finish second for his first career All-America honor in his first season. He has five podium finishes this year.
Joergen Brath finished eighth for his second career All-America honor.
Endre Bjertness placed 12th. The Utes won the race with 79 points.
Utah is second in the overall standings with 136 points, behind leader Montana State (149). Denver stands third (133) with Dartmouth fourth (107) and Colorado fifth (92).
