SALT LAKE CITY – Utah skier
Martin Bergström has been named as the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association men's Nordic Athlete of the Year. The award is selected by the coaches in the league.
Bergström, in his first season at Utah, won both the men's 10-km classic and 20-km freestyle races at the NCAA Championships. The wins were his first of the season. He finished on the podium six times during the year, including finishing second in the 20-km freestyle at the RMISA Championship and third in the 10-km classic at RMISA's. He also helped the Utah team finish second in the classic relay at the Seawolf Invite.
Utah won the 2017 NCAA Championship.
