SALT LAKE CITY -  For the past few weeks, four Utes have been playing against the best competition in the world.
Hannah Flippen (USA), Anissa Urtez,
Alyssa Barrera (Mexico) and
Aubrey Peterson (Great Britain) have been traveling the globe representing their countries at a pair of continental tournaments
At the World Cup of Softball in Oklahoma City, Flippen helped the United States to a 7-1 mark in tournament play. The two-time Pac-12 Player of the Year started four games as the squad reached the finals before being beaten by Japan.
The WNT will play a few exhibition games in July before heading to the Dominican Republic (Aug. 4-13) for the Pan Am/World Qualifier, which Flippen will be a part of. The 2017 season concludes in Japan (Aug. 25-27) with the Japan Cup.

Urtez and Barrera were also in OKC as starters on the Mexican National Team. Urtez paced her country with six singles and five runs scored while Barrera, a Pac-12 All-Freshman selection in 2017, was a mainstay in the lineup, batting .364 over the last four games.
Peterson batted .304 with six runs scored and two driven in as a starter for Great Britain at the 2017 Women's Softball European Championship. Team GB finished with a 9-3 record, falling to host Italy in the semifinals.
