BOZEMAN, Mont. – Ann-Kathrin Breuning recorded her third top-four finish of the season while
Linus Walch had his first top 10 finish of the year to lead the Utah ski team in the slalom at the Montana State Invitational on Monday. Utah stands fifth overall after the alpine portion of the event.
Breuning finished fourth in the women's race to lead the Utes.
Julie Mohagen finished 11
th with
Sabine Krautgasser 14
th.
In the men's race, Walch was sixth for his best finish of the season in his third career NCAA race.
Martin Grasic finished 13
th for his best finish of the year while
Ty Sprock tied for 14
th.
Sam Dupratt finished 22nd.
Huston Philp did not finish his first run on a difficult course that saw multiple DNF's and disqualifications.
Utah is fifth overall in the standings with 263.5 points. Colorado leads with 306 points, followed by Denver in second (294), Montana State (276) and New Mexico (272) in fourth.
Utah returns to action this weekend as the Nordic team competes at the Montana State Invitational from Jan. 13-14 while the alpine team hosts the Utah Invitational at Snowbasin from Jan. 11-13.
