LAS VEGAS –The University of Utah women's tennis team completed the second day of action at the ITA Mountain Regional tournament earlier today.
The Utes were able to continue their success in doubles, with
Brianna Chisholm advancing to the quarterfinals in singles play.
To start the day off, Chisholm defeated Yunna Ukita of Weber State, with a final score of 7-5, 6-2. In the next round, she was able to come away with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Elisa Koonik of Wyoming. She will face off against Air Force's Kirsten Kerrigan tomorrow in singles quarterfinals play.
In doubles,
Taylor Calton and
Anya Lamoreaux came away with an 8-1 victory against Montana State in the second round. They were followed by a win from the duo of
Madison Tattini and
Brianna Chisholm, as they defeated Nevada 8-5.
To wrap things up,
Whitney Hekking and
Leah Heimuli carded a win over Air Force with a final score of 8-5 to advance to the third round.
The ITA Regional will continue tomorrow with the round of 16 and quarterfinal round doubles, round of 16 singles, and consolation singles and doubles.
