EVANSTON, Ill. –The University of Utah women's tennis team wrapped up play today at the Wildcat Invite. The day was highlighted by freshman
Madison Tattini, as she was able to take the Flight D singles championship.
Tattini was matched up against Vanessa Streng from Northwestern, as she was able to come out on top with a final score of 6-0, 6-1.
In the Flight I bracket,
Leah Heimuli was able to card a fourth-place finish. She faced off against Caroline Szabo from Michigan State, falling short to Szabo in a competitive match, 7-5, 6-4.
Lindsay Hung also finished on the podium for the Flight E Consolation bracket, placing second. She was bested by Inci Ogut of Northwestern with a final score of 6-2, 6-2, in the final round.
Finally, in the Flight H bracket finals,
Anya Lamoreaux fell short to Nathalie Rodilosso of Princeton with a score of 6-4, 6-4, to place second for the Utes.
The Utah women's tennis team will be back in action later this week, as they will compete in the ITA Regionals. This event will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will take place during October 10-15.
