Ute diver goes sixth in one meter
SALT LAKE CITY - Daniel Theriault closed the first evening of the Mizzou Invite by making the finals of the one-meter.
"Daniel and Rylan Little had a very strong showing today as they both recorded personal bests on one today," diving coach Richard Marschner said. "Rylan's score was actually the third highest of the meet and Daniel keeps showing some great senior leadership with his steady performances. The women had an up and down day but we are starting to make the changes that will really benefit us in the second half of the season."
The senior from Winnipeg increased his score from the morning prelims and took sixth overall (287.90). Little, just a freshman, took part in the consolation final after placing 10th in the prelims and was the runner-up this evening with a score of 327.45.
The women's contingent took part in the three meter prelims this morning. Emma Ruchala had the top score of 233.60 and finished 18th overall to lead the group.
Diving events continue tomorrow at the Mizzou Aquatic Center. Preliminary diving action starts at 11 a.m. tomorrow with finals slated to start at 6 p.m. Admission to all sessions is free.
