LOS ANGELES – Utah volleyball went on the road and knocked off No. 15 USC in straight sets (25-19, 25-21, 25-18) in the Galen Center on the Trojans Senior Night on Wednesday, November 21.

Sophomore outside hitter
Dani Drews had a monster match, setting a program record for the most kills in a three-set match during the rally-scoring era with 22. She did it very efficiently as well, hitting .429 only having four errors on 42 swings. After coming out and having six kills in the first set, she stepped it up and had eight in the second and third to total her 22.

Utah took an early lead in the first set after going on a 5-0 run to go up 10-7. The Utes held their lead the rest of the set building it to as much as five at one point. They finished the set with a 3-0 run to close out the opening frame 25-19.

An early 3-0 run in the second put the Utes up 8-6. The Utes held that lead the rest of the way not letting the Trojans threaten them too much closing out the set 25-21 and going up 2-0 in the match.

With the chance to get a sweep over the ranked Trojans, Utah didn't mess around in the third racing out to a 7-2 lead. The Utes cruised from there closing it out 25-18 to move its record to 17-13 overall and 9-10 in the Pac-12.

The road victory is the second in a row for Utah and it's the fourth victory in five matches. This was the fifth victory over a ranked opponent for the Utes this season.

Bailey Choy had a double-double with 29 assists and 11 digs and had six of the team's nine aces in the match.
There is one match left in the regular season and the Utes will celebrate seniors
Lauga Gauta and
Berkeley Oblad against Colorado on Friday, November 21 at 12 p.m. in the Huntsman Center.
