SALT LAKE CITY – Preparations continued today for the Utah football team as they geared up for the 41stannual Holiday Bowl on Dec. 31.Â

Even though the Utes are locked in on bowl preparation, another big event is coming up on Wednesday with the early signing day period. Head coach Kyle Whittingham is expecting to sign 70-percent of his class on Wednesday, something he thinks will be the new trend moving forward.Â

Other news surrounding the Utes this week has been the possible return of quarterback Tyler Huntley, who is listed on this week's depth chart. It is evident that the chemistry on the team is unmatched as Jason Shelley excitedly talked about getting to see his teammate play again.Â
"He works hard every day. Sometimes you can't even tell that he is hurting because he works so hard. We both expect to start, so you just have to go out there and compete. It's fun."

Guy Holliday on what makes Jaylen Dixon such a good deep threat…
"Well you have to catch the ball consistently, and then the biggest thing is understanding coverage rotation and things like that. Sometimes, really fast guys, they just run and that isn't necessarily playing football. So he has grown in understanding coverage and coverage rotations, where the soft spots are. On top of that though, obviously he can run really fast and that helps you be a deep threat."
On the growth of Solomon Enis and Terrell Perriman…
"It has been really good. We redshirted Terrell, but I have been impressed with what I have seen. Solomon played a lot for us earlier and he's a big body. I think that he has to develop confidence in himself and really understand the true speed of the game. It is coming though because it is not as easy as people think. You don't just go out there and run a route and the result happens. That happens in high school, but in college there are numerous coverages and plays change, so he is playing fast and he is doing a good job."
Morgan Scalley on how preparation has been going…
"Today was awesome. There was a lot of energy and focus. These guys are hungry. Ten wins is a big deal and these guys understand that. It has been a fun group to coach all season long. They are locked in and they want to win."
On Northwestern…
"They are tough, smart guys. You feel like you are looking across the ball. They do things the right way, they are well-coached and they have a quarterback that has been there a while. He makes them right. They have a tough running back, the offensive line is coached up well and they have a wide receiver, No. 88, that is very productive. We are excited to play these guys."
