FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - The Utah men's swimming team continued competition at the 2018 Pac-12 Championships this evening, adding more names to the Ute record books.

Paul Ungur had the best finish in an individual event this evening, placing 11
th in the 50 free. His time of 19.56 was a new PR as he remained the second-fastest Ute swimmer ever in this event.

Liam O'Haimhirgin was the second Ute with a NCAA B cut time, as he also qualified for the "B" final. It was a PR for the sophomore who recorded the fourth-fastest time in Utah history during the prelims (19.70).

A third Ute,
Rodolfo Moreira, placed third in the "C" final with a NCAA B cut time of 19.88

In the 500 free,
Rahiti De Vos placed 12th with a NCAA B cut time of 4:20.01.
Matteo Sogne reached the "C" final for a second year in a row with his best time of the season (4:28.30) during the prelims.

Daniel McArthur was the top swimmer for Utah in the 200 IM. The school record holder in the event had his best showing of the season during the prelims at 1:45.23. It was enough to reach the "B" final this evening and qualify as a NCAA B cut time.

Cole Avery reached the "C" final and swam a NCAA B cut time of 1:47.81. That mark was also a PR for the junior and the fifth-fastest time in Utah history.

In the final event, the 200 free relay, a Utah contingent of
Ben Scott,
Felix Chiun,
Colten Montgomery and
Austin Phillips finished with a time of 1:19.89

The Pac-12 Championships will continue tomorrow at 11 a.m. PT with the prelims of the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast and 100 back. The finals of those events will get underway at 6 p.m. PT along with the 400 medley relay.
