STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. – Utah skier
Julie Mohagen has been named the recipient of the Elite 90 award for the 2018 NCAA Skiing Championship. The Elite 90 award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each NCAA Championship.
Mohagen has a 4.00 grade point average and is majoring in finance. She is Utah's first Elite 90 award winner in any sport.
The 2016 NCAA slalom champion, Mohagen is making her third career NCAA appearance. The junior from Oslo, Norway, is a two-time All-American for the Utes and a two-time first-team All-RMISA skier. She has four career victories and 10 career podium finishes. This season she has five top 10 finishes. Mohagen's best finish this year is sixth in the first slalom at the New Mexico Invitational.
Eligible student-athletes must have participated in their sport for at least two years with their school. All ties are broken by the number of credits completed.
The NCAA Championships begin on Wednesday, March 7, with the men's and women's giant slalom races.
