SALT LAKE CITY - Utah skiers

The District 8 at-large category honors 10 student-athletes from eight states and 15 NCAA sports (beach volleyball, bowling, crew/rowing, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, volleyball and water polo). Bergström, Breuning and Mohagen will be placed on the national ballot for Academic All-America honors.
Bergström, the 2018 NCAA 10-km classic champion, earned All-America honors in both classic and freestyle this past season. He was the 2018 RMISA Men's Nordic Athlete of the Year and the RMISA MVP, leading all men's Nordic skiers in the league with five wins. Bergström tied for the league lead with nine podium finishes. He ends his Utah career with three NCAA titles, more than any Nordic skier in Utah history, and is a four-time All-American. Bergström won seven career races while at Utah. He has a 3.94 grade point average and is majoring in mathematics.
Breuning earned All-America honors in the giant slalom during her only season at Utah, finishing tied for fourth at NCAA's. A second-team All-RMISA selection, she finished second in the regular-season RMISA MVP standings. One of the most consistent skiers in the league last season, Breuning tied for the RMISA lead among women's alpine skiers with eight top-five finishes, including two podium finishes. Previously she skied three seasons at Westminster College and during her career she had three collegiate race wins, nine collegiate podiums and 21 top five finishes. Breuning has a 3.97 grade point average and is majoring in math as a graduate student. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Westminster College.
Mohagen was the 2018 skiing Elite 90 Award winner, which goes to the student-athlete with the highest GPA at the NCAA Championships. She had five top-10 finishes in 2018 with a season-best finish of sixth in the slalom at New Mexico. The 2016 NCAA slalom champion, Mohagen is a two-time All-American and three-time NCAA qualifier at Utah. She has four career wins and 10 career podium finishes and is a two-time first-team All-RMISA skier. The finance major has a 4.00 grade point average.
