SAN FRANCISCO – The Utah softball program placed six student-athletes on the Pac-12 All-Academic teams this afternoon with
Ally Dickman and
Katie Donovan taking first team honors.
Donovan, the Pac-12 Scholar Athlete of the Year, is the only Ute to ever earn First Team All-Academic honors from the conference in three-straight seasons. Earlier this month, she became the first Ute to collect Academic All-District honors from CoSIDA in three-straight seasons.
Dickman was a member of the second team last season and moved up to the top tier this year. She becomes the seventh different Ute to earn Pac-12 First Team All-Academic accolades.
Heather Bowen earned all-academic status for a second-straight season, becoming the eighth Ute to ever accomplish that feat. She was honorably mentioned along with first-time selections
Alyssa Barrera, BreOnnaCastaneda and
Hailey Hilburn.
Utah has had 22 student-athletes earn 36 Pac-12 All-Academic honors since joining the conference in 2012.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and compete in at least 50% of the team's matches.
