SALT LAKE CITY – University of Utah women's tennis head coach
Mat Iandolo announced the 2018-19 schedule today, highlighted by 12 matches at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center.
The Utes will play in three fall tournaments before officially getting underway in January. October 5-7, Utah will be in Chicago, Ill. for the Northwestern Invitational before heading to Las Vegas for the ITA Regionals, Oct. 10-15.
Utah wraps up fall play at the San Diego State Invitational in San Diego, Calif. The tournament will run Nov. 9-11.
The 2018-19 Utah women's tennis team gets dual match play started with a neutral site faceoff against the Texas A&M Aggies in Newport Beach on Jan. 12 before returning to Salt Lake City for a four-match home stand.
Utah hosts Utah State and Southern Utah at the Eccles Tennis Center on Jan. 19 and then will welcome New Mexico and Boise State to Salt Lake City on Feb. 8 and Feb. 10, respectively.
The rest of February will be spent on the road for the Utes as they take on North Carolina State on Feb. 16 in Raleigh, N.C. and Wisconsin (Feb. 23) and Minnesota (Feb. 24), both in Madison, Wis.
The Utes kick off March with three home matches, starting on March 5 against Western Michigan. On March 8, Utah gets Pac-12 play underway with home matches against Washington State and then Washington on March 10.
On March 12, Utah heads to sunny California for a non-conference match against Fresno State before returning to Utah for the Deseret Duel against BYU in Provo on March 16. The Utes gets back to their conference slate on March 22 and March 23 when they travel to Tucson and Tempe for matches against Arizona and Arizona State.
Utah hosts the Oregon ducks on March 31 with another non-conference match taking place April 2 on the road against Denver. The Utes then take on two more road opponents, traveling to UCLA (April 5) and USC (April 6).
Ending the regular season, Utah will host four straight home matches, starting with Loyola Marymount on April 11. They close out Pac-12 play against Stanford (April 12), California (April 14) and Colorado (April 20).
The Pac-12 Championships will take place in Ojai, Calif., April 24-28. Times for the 2018-19 season will be announced at a later date.
