BOZEMAN, Mont. – Utah's
Guro Jordheim continued her Nordic win streak with her third win of the season to lead the Utah ski team on the second day of the Montana State Invitational as the Utes stand third overall.
Jordheim has three wins this season and 10 career victories.
Mariah Bredal finished second for her first career podium finish while
Leah Lange tied her best finish of the season with a sixth-place run.
Karianne Moe finished 11
th. The Utes scored 104 points in the race, the second time the ladies Nordic squad has scored over 100 points in a race.
In the men's race,
Ola Jordheim earned his first career podium finish with a third-place run, his third top-five finish of the year.
Maximilian Bie tied his best finish with an eighth-place run while
Logan Diekmann was 12
th.
Jacob Engström finished 24
th.
In alpine, the Utes had four total skiers finish in the top 10 in the slalom. In the women's race,
Roni Remme finished seventh with
Eirin Engeset eighth and
Katie Vesterstein 15
th. Engeset has finished in the top 10 five times this year. For the men,
Huston Philp earned his fourth top-10 run of the year with a seventh-place finish. Joachim Lien finished eighth for his third top 10 of the year.
Ty Sprock placed 15th.
Linus Walch hooked a gate on his second run while
Addison Dvoracek,
Martin Grasic and
Fredrik Maurstad did not finish their first runs.
Utah stands third at the MSU Invite with 400 points but have the potential to overtake leader New Mexico (434) and Colorado (425) with a strong day tomorrow. Denver stands fourth (389.5) with Montana State fifth (369).
The Montana State Invitational concludes on Saturday with the men's and women's classic races. In addition, the men's slalom race from the Colorado Invitational will be held. The race was postponed last week due to heavy snow. Utah leads the CU Invite, 602 to 517 over Denver with Colorado third (144.5).
