SALT LAKE CITY -Â Utah hosts No. 16/25 Arizona State in Pac-12 action on Friday at 2 p.m.

Joe Dykstra said. "We have had some very competitive and fun meets with them over the years and expect this one to be no different. We had a tremendous training camp over fall break and we look forward to building our dual meet performances through the season."

Utah Women's Swim and Dive dropped its first Pac-12 dual at No. 23 UCLA, 177-84, and then fought valiantly but could not overcome No. 7 USC, falling 143-111
Charity Pittard picked up from where she left off in the win over Arizona, by capturing the 200 breast in 2:16.03. She also took second in 200 IM with a time of 2:03.80 against UCLA. Pittard had another strong day against USC, placing second in the both the 100 (1:03.55) and 200 (2:15.43) breast.
Mandy Gebhart was the runner-up in the 1000 free (10:17.09) and third in the 500 free (5:03.60) against UCLA. She continued her solid weekend, winning the 1000 free in 10:17.60 against the Trojans.

Utah also found success in the 100 back against USC withÂ
Sarah Lott (55.13) nudging outÂ
Audrey Reimer (56.09) for the win. Reimer did get her victory in the 200 back with a time of 2:00.66 and finished second against UCLA in the same event

Other triumphs for Utah on Saturday includedÂ
Christina Pick in the 400 IM (4:31.15) and the 200 free relay team of Lott,Â

Maddie Woznick (1:35.17). Pick also took third in the 200 fly (2:05.73) and had Utah's top swim in the same event against UCLA (2:06.44)
Over on the men's side, they dropped a competitive meet at UC Santa Barbara, 150.5-111.5
Utah started well with a win in the 200 medley relay thanks to
David Fridlander,
Andrew Britton,
Cooper DeRyk and
Liam O'Haimhirgin.
Britton also won the 100 breast (56.45) while O'Haimhirgin was the runner-up in the 100 (45.56) and 200 (1:40.86) free events. Fridlander also took second in two events, the 100 (50.38) and 200 (1:52.89) back while deRyk was third in the 50 free (20.91)
Ben Waterman won the 100 fly for the second-straight week, turning in a time of 49.06, and captured the 200 fly in 1:51.38.
Jaek Horner earned his first win as a Ute, taking the 200 breast in 2:03.42. He also finished third in the 200 IM (1:55.46)

Last Meet vs. the Sun Devils
Utah swimming and diving won five events against Arizona State in 2017, but lost in Tempe. The No. 22 men's team was defeated by the No. 8 Sun Devils, 197-103, while the Utah women fell 207.5-92.5.

The Utes started the meet with the women's 200 medley relay team taking first place.Â
Sarah Lott led a relay that touched in at 1:42.75 and won the 100 back in 55.12
Annual Reddish Recognition
Utah Director of SkiingÂ
Fredrik Landstedt was named the 2018-19 recipient of the Don Reddish Coach of the Year Award, presented annually to the coach of a sport other than football, men's and women's basketball and gymnastics who is deemed to have had the most successful season the previous year.

In his first season at Utah, Landstedt led the Utes to the 2019 NCAA Championship.Â
Julia Richter won the NCAA title in the 5-km freestyle and eight skiers combined for 12 All-America honors with five podium finishes at the meet. Utah won four of five RMISA meets held during the regular season, including the NCAA Regional/RMISA Championship. Off the field,Â
Julie Mohagen was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Division I At-Large first team.

Reddish coached the men's swimming and diving team from 1949-90.

Utah is back home at Ute Natatorium on Fri., Nov. 1 for men's and women's dual meets against UNLV. Action begins at 5 p.m.
