SALT LAKE CITY - Both Utah diving teams are heading back to L.A. to attend the Trojan Diving Invitational this weekend. Utah will look to build off an impressive showing against UNLV

Tony Chen was the top performer the Rebels, winning both the 1m (326.70) and 3m (365.93) for the first time this season. .
Luke McDivitt turned in another strong meet taking second in the 1m (293.70) and third in the 3m (314.25) after winning the 3m (337.80) with an impressive performance against Arizona State.
McDivitt said that this weekend presents a unique opportunity for him to show case his abilities.
"USC has a platform board, and I have four dives I can do off that," he explained. "I am really excited to get to try some of those in a meet for the first time."
Emma Ruchala took first in the 1m (270.53) for the women's team after placing third in the 3m (289.65) against UNLV. It was Ruchala's first win of the season after two strong performances against ASU and Arizona.
Freshman Lizzie DeCecco provided juxtaposition to Ruchala with a win in the 3m (294.95) and a third-place finish in the 1m (229.43). This followed her first place finish in both events against Arizona to open the season.
"This weekend is a good chance to gauge where we stand against some of the Pac-12's top competitors," head diving coach
Richard Marschner said. "It is an outdoor venue that can pose some unique challenges that we are not that familiar with. We have been making good progress in practice and I expect that to show in our results."
Overall, despite having several newcomers and an exceptionally young team, Utah has found success early on in the season.
