WACO, Texas – Utah senior defensive end Bradlee Anae and senior defensive back Julian Blackmon have been named All-Americans by the American Football Coaches Association, Anae to the first team and Blackmon to the second team.

Anae has been named to four of the teams used by the NCAA to determine the season's consensus All-Americans, earning first-team honors by the AFCA, Walter Camp and Sporting News and named to the Associated Press third team. Blackmon has been named to the second teams of both the AFCA and AP teams. The remaining team, Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), will be released on Thursday with the NCAA's consensus team by the end of the week.

Eight Utah players have earned All-America honors from the AFCA with Anae and Blackmon joining Luther Ellis (DT, 1994), Eric Weddle (DB, 2006), Louie Sakoda (K, 2008), Tom Hackett (P, 2014-15), Mitch Wishnowsky (P, 2016 and 2018) and Matt Gay (K, 2017).

Blackmon is a three-time All-Pac-12 selection, earning first-team honors at safety this year. He tied for the Pac-12 lead with four interceptions and had eight total passes defended while ranking fourth on the team with 60 tackles.

Anae is tied for seventh in FBS with 12.5 sacks and his 90 sack yards is fourth in FBS. Anae was the defensive winner of the Morris Award, given to the most outstanding defensive lineman as selected by the league's starting offensive linemen. He was a finalist for the Ted Hendricks Award and earned semifinalist honors from the Lombardi and Bednarik awards.
