SALT LAKE CITY – Utah senior defensive linemen Bradlee Anae and Leki Fotu and running back Zack Moss have been named to the Football Writers Association of America All-America team. Anae earned first-team honors with Fotu and Moss on the second team.
Â
Anae has been named to all five of the teams used by the NCAA to determine the season's consensus All-Americans, earning first-team honors by the AFCA, FWAA, Walter Camp and Sporting News and named to the Associated Press third team. He is expected to become Utah's eighth consensus All-American when the NCAA releases the team later this week, joining Luther Elliss (DL, 1994), Jordan Gross (OL, 2002), Eric Weddle (DB, 2006), Louie Sakoda (K, 2008), Tom Hackett (P, 2014-15), Mitch Wishnowsky (P, 2016) and Matt Gay (K, 2017) as Utah's consensus All-Americans. The last non-specialist to earn consensus All-America honor was Weddle in 2006, and Anae is Utah's fourth non-specialist to earn the honor.Â
Â
The FWAA All-America team is the second-longest continuously published team in major college football and added a second team in 2013.
Â
Anae is Utah's 17th Utah player to earn first-team FWAA All-America honors, joining Lee Grosscup (QB, 1957), Marv Bateman (P, 1970), Steve Odom (RS, 1973), Steve Clark (DT, 1981), Carlton Walker (OG, 1984), Erroll Tucker (RS, 1985), Elliss (DT, 1994), Gross (OT, 2002), Alex Smith (QB, 2004), Chris Kemoeatu (OG, 2004), Sakoda (P, 2007; K, 2008), Zane Beadles (OL, 2009), Hackett (P, 2014-15), Nate Orchard (DE, 2014), Wishnowsky (P, 2016) and Gay (K, 2017).
Â
Moss and Fotu join Hunter Dimick (DL, 2016), Wishnowsky (P, 2017), Chase Hansen (LB, 2018) and Gay (K, 2018) as players to earn second-team FWAA All-America honors since the organization added a second team in 2013. Moss also earned major All-America honors from the Associated Press (third team) and Fotu from Walter Camp (second team) and the Associated Press (third team).

Anae is tied for seventh in FBS with 12.5 sacks and his 90 sack yards is fourth in FBS. The defensive winner of the Morris Award, given to the most outstanding defensive lineman as selected by the league's starting offensive linemen, he was a finalist for the Ted Hendricks Award and semifinalist for the Lombardi and Bednarik awards. Anae's career 29.5 sacks is tied for the school record and he ranks fourth all-time at Utah with 41.0 TFL while holding the records for sack yards (209) and TFL yards (244).

Moss holds Utah career records for rushing yards (4,010), carries (696), rushing touchÂdowns (38), 100-yard rushing games (19) and touchdowns scored (41).
Â
Fotu, also a two-time first-team All-Pac-12 pick, ranks third on the team with 8.5 tackles for loss (1.0 sack) and has 27 total tackles along with two pass breakups and a forced fumble. He is a block eater and a disruptive force in the middle, helping Utah lead the country in rushing defense (70.3 ypg).
