Lacrosse Travels to Hofstra on Saturday

SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah lacrosse team hits the road for the first time this season this weekend, facing Hofstra on Saturday, Feb. 16, at 1 p.m. ET/11:00 a.m. MT.

The Utes are 1-1 on the season. Utah picked up its first win in school history last weekend against Mercer.
Sophomore Josh Stout, who scored seven goals against Mercer, leads the nation with 10 goals scored. He is tied for third in the NCAA in goals per game (5.00).
"We had a great practice this morning and it's another step in the process," head coach Brian Holman said. "This will be a really good challenge for the team. I think the guys are dialed in. You want to do the same things - focus on doing the best job the Utes can do. I thought we did a really good job Saturday of controlling the things that were within our control - clearing, riding, ground balls, getting organized. The same process takes place. It's a long travel day, so it's going to be intriguing to see how we handle the process of the trip."
Hofstra is 1-0 on the season after upsetting 13th-ranked Lehigh, 4-3, in its first game on Saturday. The team returns its top three scorers from a year ago when it went 6-8.
Holman coached Hofstra head coach Seth Tierney at Johns Hopkins (1988-91). Tierney was an assistant coach for Team USA this summer at the FIL World Championships, coaching Utah assistant Marcus Holman.
