SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah women's tennis team is set head to the Midwest for a pair of matches, taking on Wisconsin on Friday, Feb. 22 and Minnesota on Saturday, Feb. 23.
Both matches will take place at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison, Wis. with Utah's match against Wisconsin starting at 4 p.m. MT on Friday and its match against Minnesota starting at 10 a.m. MT on Saturday.
Utah is coming off a loss against top-20 ranked North Carolina State, but enter the weekend 4-2 overall this season. Three of Utah's four wins this year have come as 7-0 shutouts.
The Utes have had a strong season so far this year with the youth on the team shining each week. Utah has three true freshmen regularly playing in the lineup this season with
Madison Tattini on court two,
Emily Dush on court three and
Lindsay Hung on court four.
Tattini is currently 3-2 in singles play with both Dush and Hung posting records of 4-1. Dush and Hung's only losses of the season came against North Carolina State.
The upperclassmen have also battled it out this season with
Brianna Chisholm holding a 3-3 record on the No. 1 court and her sister,
Whitney Hekking, sitting with a 4-2 record playing on the No. 5 court.
Leah Heimuli is also 3-1 in singles play, winning two matches on the No. 6 court and one at No. 5 to start the season.
