ANCHORAGE and GIRDWOOD, Alaska – Julia Richter in women's classic and
Addison Dvoracek in men's giant slalom both won as the Utah ski team leads after three events at the RMISA Championships/NCAA West Regional.
The Utes lead Colorado, 517 to 483.5 points with the men's and women's slalom races remaining on Sunday. Host Alaska Anchorage is third (386) with New Mexico fourth (375.5) and Denver fifth (331).
Richter won her second race of the season and earned her fourth-straight podium finish.
Karianne Moe earned her second podium finish of the year and tied her season-best finish.
Guro Jordheim finished fourth and has been in the top five every race she has competed this year.
Leah Lange finished seventh for her seventh top 10 finish of the year.
Mariah Bredal placed 10
th, her seventh top 10 finish of the season. The ladies earned 105 points to lead all teams in the race.
"Another great day here in Alaska!," Richter said. "Our coaches Fredrik and Miles did a great job today with our skis. I am really happy with my win and to share the podium with Karianne. We have a really strong team this season and I am proud to be part of it. Now I am looking forward to some rest days after four great and fun races here in Alaska."
"I had a great race today!," Moe said. "It was just perfect skiing out there and we had by far the best skis! During the first lap Guro and I got dropped by the first three girls, but we worked so well together to try to catch Hedda [Baangman of Colorado]. We got closer, but wasn't able to catch her. However, I had so much fun skiing with Guro today!"
Logan Diekmann earned his sixth top five finish of the season with a fifth-place run.
Maximilian Bie finished seventh, his fifth top five 10 finish of the year.
Ola Jordheim was eighth and has been in the top 10 in every race but the sprint race.
Bjørn Riksaasen finished 11
th with
Noel Keeffe 12
th and Jacob Engströem, in his final college race, 20
th.

Miles Havlick said. "Conditions don't get any better with nice hard tracks, sunshine and we had all the Utes feeling good and ripping! It's always fun to see a bunch of Utes at the front of the race and that was the case in both the men's and women's races today. Huge thanks to our athletic trainer, Ben, for all his hard work mending ailments and sore muscles throughout the week. Today was a remarkable way to end our time here in Alaska!"
"Excellent day for the Nordic team today," Director of Skiing Frederik Landstedt said. "It's not often that everyone on the team is feeling good and getting top results. As a coach you definitely need to relish days like today. We had a couple of people fall but they got up quickly and fought their way back to great positions."
In alpine, the men went 1-2 as Dvoracek won his fourth race of the year, with all his wins coming in the giant slalom. Joachim Lien earned his third podium finish of the season after running the fastest second run to jump from eighth to second. Linus Walsh finished 15
th for his third top-20 finish of the season. Tomas Birkner placed 22
nd with
Ty Sprock 25
th.
Huston Philp did not finish his first run.
Eirin Engeset earned her fifth podium of the year with a third-place run in women's GS.
Katie Parker finished ninth for her best finish of the year while
Julie Mohagen placed 16
th. Kristine Aasberg did not finish her first run.
The alpine teams have two more days on the hill at Alyeska Resort with the slalom races on Saturday for the UAA Invite and Sunday for the RMISA Championships.
