SEATTLE– Junior
Sarah Feeny continues to impress since she has returned from a two-year LDS mission by yet again breaking her own school record in the 3,000-meter race on Saturday at the MPSF Indoor Championships. In total, the Utes recorded 12 new personal-bests and moved seven more athletes into the Utah all-time top-10 lists on Saturday.Â
"It was a great day, we finished in the top-10 as a team and I thought we performed exceptionally well especially because points are really hard to come by at this meet," head coach
Kyle Kepler said. "We really put it out there, up and down the lineup, and we had a lot of really special performances."Â

In the 3,000-meter race, Feeny captured a fourth-place finish in a personal-best time of 9:07.93. This time tops her previous school record by four seconds which she posted earlier this season. Junior
Poppy Tank also recorded a new personal-best finishing in 12th place with a time of 9:16.22. This tops her previous best by eight seconds and moves her from fourth to third all-time in the event.Â

Utah had a strong showing in the mile run where all four competitors recorded new personal bests. Feeny led the way as she finished in fourth-place with a time of 4:36.67. This time moves her into second-place all time. Freshman
Sophie Ryan,
Cara Woolnough and
Kennedy Powell also competed for the Utes. Ryan placed 15th with a time of 4:51.71, Woolnough earned 17th in a time of 4:53.15 and Powell finished in 23rd with a time of 4:57.56. Ryan's time moved her into ninth place all-time.Â

Moving to the 400-meter race, sophomore
Jackie Martin earned a new personal record and finished in eighth place to lead Utah. Martin finished the race with a time of 55.06 and moved herself into third-place all-time. Freshman
Brooklyn James finished in 21st place and recorded a personal best time of 57.35.Â

The Utes posted solid marks in the 800-meter race with junior
Sarah Newton capturing a second-place finish in a personal best time of 2:06.62. This time moves Newton into third-place all-time. Freshman
Brooke Manson, sophomore
Whitney Hessler and junior
Nicole Griffiths also competed and all earned new personal records. Manson finished in 13th with a time of 2:09.09, Hessler earned 16th in a time of 2:10.09 and Griffiths placed 24th with a time of 2:11.00. Manson's time moved her into 8th place all-time in the event.Â

The Utah 'A' squad posted the season's fastest time in the 4x400-meter race. The squad made up of James, senior
Mesa Weidle, Martin and Newton, finished in seventh-place with a time of 3:45.22.Â

Senior
Eliza Hansen competed in the women's high jump where she posted a jumping height of 5'2.50" (1.59m) and finished in 22nd place.Â
As a team, Utah finished tied for 10th place with California and totaled 23 team points. USC finished in first (120 points), Stanford placed second (67.50 points), Oregon earned third (61 points), Colorado captured fourth (58 points) and Arizona finished in fifth (51 points).Â
"I was just really pleased with everybody that competed, even if they didn't score or set a PR, really the effort was there and I am really proud of this group," Kepler said. "It was a huge step forward for our program and we want to continue to roll as we start to get ready for the outdoor season now." Â
