SALT LAKE CITY – Fresh off its home meet this past weekend, the Utah track & field team will be right back in action again this week competing in multiple events throughout the Southern California area. The Utes will send athletes to compete in the Bryan Clay Invitational & Multi's (April 17-19), Mt. SAC Relays (April 18-20) and Long Beach State Invitational (April 19-20).
Â
"I think we are certainly on our way if we can put some things together this weekend," said Utah head coach
Kyle Kepler. "We have a bunch of kids that are right on the cusp of producing some regional qualifying marks. Obviously that is a moving target as there is not specific time or mark to hit, you just have to be in the top-48 of each event. We feel that we have a lot of athletes knocking on the door and we just need to bust that down in order to get them to those championships later in May.
Â
"Our focus this weekend is [the Bryan Clay Invitational] at Azusa Pacific with the middle-distance, the distance and the sprinters. Our jumpers and hurdlers will compete in two different meets as we head to the Mt. SAC Relays in Torrance and over in Long Beach for the Long Beach State Invitational. We have had some exciting things happen over there. It should be a great weekend and we are excited for it."
