DENVER, Colo. - The 47th overall ranked University of Utah women's tennis team dropped their road match against 43rd ranked Denver earlier today, with a score of 0-4. With this loss, the Utes will now fall to a record of 11-6 on the season.
The Pioneers were able to gain the early edge over the Utes in doubles, as they were able to earn the doubles point. On court No. 1,
Brianna Chisholm and
Madison Tattini were unable to record a victory, as they dropped their match to Bianca Mok and Camille V-Anderson with a final score of 3-6.
Whitney Hekking and
Leah Heimuli were then defeated at the No. 2 position by Tatum Burger and Hada Chang with a score of 4-6, to give Denver the 0-1 lead.
In singles, Hekking was unable to record a victory at the No. 5 spot, as she fell to Camille V-Anderson woth a score of 0-6, 1-6. On court No. 1, Chisholm fell short in a competitive match against Bianca Mok, with a score of 5-7, 1-6. Hada Chang then secured the victory at the No. 6 position for the Pioneers, as she defeated Heimuli in a 3-6, 0-6 match.
The University of Utah women's tennis team will be back in action later this week with two Pac-12 conference road matches against 11th ranked UCLA and 16th ranked USC. The match against UCLA is set to take place on April 5th, with compeition set to start at 1 p.m. MT. Their final match of the week against USC will take place on April 6th, with competition set to start at 1 p.m. MT as well.
