SALT LAKE CITY - Utah Softball suffered another difficult loss this afternoon to Weber State, 2-0.
Hailey Hilburn pitched six innings and suffered the tough-luck loss.
Sydney Sandez threw the final inning in relief and
Julia Noskin had a pair of hits for the home team.
The visiting Wildcats put runners on the corners with two outs in the third and Landi Hawker knocked them both in with a double that evaded the diving attempt of Utah's third baseman.Â
Meanwhile, the Utes could not muster anything but three singles through four innings against Kate Donaldson. It was not until Weber State made a pitching change to Addie Jensen in the fifth, did Utah create a scoring chance.Â
Abby Robertson drew a lead-off walk and
Julia Noskin singled to put runners on the corners with two outs. However, Jensen induced a grounder to first to keep the Wildcats in front. She did not run into any more trouble as the Utes finished with just five hits for the contest.
Utah travels to No. 2 UCLA for a three-game series this weekend that opens Friday at 8 p.m. PT
