Kramer has 1 RBI and Scores 2 Runs

SEATTLE, Wash. – The Utah baseball team dropped the second game of the series against the Washington Huskies 5-4 at Husky Ballpark in Seattle, Washington.

The Utes held an early 4-0 lead, but Washington plated five in the fifth inning to take their first lead and held on from there.

Four Utes had multiple hits and Shea Kramer led the way with one RBI while also scoring two runs.

Utah got off to a great start scoring three runs on four hits in the second inning. Kramer started the inning out with a homer to get the Utes on the board. From there, Chandler Anderson hit a sacrifice fly and Oliver Dunn hit a double to score one more putting the Utes up 3-0.

In the next inning, the Utes had three hits and a Briley Knight single scored Kramer pushing Utah's lead to 4-0.

The fifth inning was when Washington struck back, but they scored five runs on only two hits. They drew five walks in the inning that helped give them the 5-4 lead.

Base runners were limited the rest of the game, but Utah had a chance to tie it up in the ninth inning. With two outs, Dunn and Erick Migueles both singled bringing the tying run into scoring position, but the Huskies got out of it to earn the win and to clinch the series.

Along with Kramer, Dunn, Knight and Anderson each had an RBI.

Starter Joshua Tedeschi only gave up two hits to Washington, but they battled drawing six walks and drove his pitch count up early in the game.

The Utes and Huskies will finish the series on Sunday, May 12 at 1 p.m. MT in Seattle.
