SALT LAKE CITY – Utah senior skier
Julie Mohagen has been selected to the Academic All-District 8 at-large first team, announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The District 8 at-large category honors 11 student-athletes from eight states and 15 NCAA sports (beach volleyball, bowling, crew/rowing, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, volleyball and water polo). Mohagen will be placed on the national ballot for Academic All-America honors. Last year she was a third-team Academic All-American.
The 2016 NCAA slalom champion, Mohagen is a two-time All-American and competed at the NCAA Championships three times during her four years at Utah. She was the 2018 skiing Elite 90 Award winner, which goes to the student-athlete with the highest GPA at the NCAA Championships. Mohagen finished her career with four career wins and 10 career podium finishes and was a two-time first-team All-RMISA skier. The finance major graduated with a 4.00 grade point average.
The Academic All-District team is selected through voting by CoSIDA, a 2,000-member organization consisting of sports public relations professionals for colleges and universities in the United States and Canada.
