AUSTIN, Texas – For the second-straight year, Utah skier
Julie Mohagen has been named to the Academic All-America Division I At-Large team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Mohagen was named to the first team after being a third-team selection last year.
The at-large teams include the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming & diving, tennis, water polo, beach volleyball, women's bowling, field hockey, women's rowing, men's volleyball and wrestling.
The 2016 NCAA slalom champion, Mohagen is a two-time All-American and competed at the NCAA Championships three times during her four years at Utah. She was the 2018 skiing Elite 90 Award winner, which goes to the student-athlete with the highest GPA at the NCAA Championships. Mohagen finished her career with four career wins and 10 career podium finishes and was a two-time first-team All-RMISA skier. The finance major graduated with a 4.00 grade point average.
Utah has had 12 skiers earn Academic All-America honors in its history. Mohagen is one of two skiers to be selected to the team twice, joining 2010 NCAA giant slalom champion Eva Huckova (2010-11). Huckova is also the only other first-team Academic All-America skier in Utah history (2011).
Individuals are selected through voting by CoSIDA, a 2,000-member organization consisting of sports public relations professionals for colleges and universities in the United States and Canada.
