LOS ANGELES - Tony Chen capped a strong weekend for Utah Diving at the UCLA Invite, taking fourth in the 1m.
The sophomore won the 3m on Friday and teammate
Luke McDivitt placed third in the platform yesterday.
Chase Hindmarsh and McDivitt were the top two divers that failed to qualify for today's finals of the 1m.
Lizzy DeCecco had the top score for Utah in the women's platform, finishing 14th. She also finished in the top 15 of the 1m on Friday.
"We faded at the finish today and did not have our best performances," diving coach
Richard Marschner said. "It was an opportunity for us to learn what we need to do in order to compete at a high level at the Pac-12 Championships and NCAA Zones."
The Utes are back in two weeks for the annual rivalry meet with BYU. Action begins Fri., Jan. 31 at 6 p.m. and continues Sat., Feb. 1 at 11 a.m.
