Lloyd Named Finalist For Pop Warner College Football Award

LANGHORNE, Pa. – Junior linebacker Devin Lloyd has been named a finalist for the Pop Warner National College Football Award, it was announced today by the Pop Warner Little Scholars organization.
The award, which is in its 11th year, recognizes student-athletes who have made a difference on the field, in the classroom and in the community, serving as a role model to Pop Warner's young student-athletes. Lloyd is one of six finalists for the award, with a winner being announced on December 17.
Lloyd leads the team in tackles through three games with 29 (5.0 TFL), averaging 9.7 per game, which is tied for fifth in the Pac-12. The Chula Vista, Calif., native also ranks 10th in the FBS in solo tackles per game (6.0) and is 17th in tackles for loss per game (1.7).
In the classroom, Lloyd is pursuing a degree in communications, earning a spot on both the Dean's List and the A.D. Honor Roll in 2019 and 2020. He is a team captain and a part of the Utah Football Leadership Council.
Lloyd has been an avid volunteer during his time in Salt Lake City, visiting patients in the Huntsman Cancer Institute and the main campus hospital, creating a special bond with a patient who was recovering from a skydiving accident. He also visits local retirement homes and has organized drives to hand out water to the homeless with other linebackers.
Lloyd is also passionate about social injustice and human rights, helping to organize marches in downtown Salt Lake City among community members and other student-athletes, speaking these events on current social issues and his passion for kindness and understanding. Lloyd was also integral in voter registration on the Utah Football team for this year's election.
