Jordan, Redding Earn Pac-12 Player of the Week Honors

SAN FRANCISCO – Running back Ty Jordan and placekicker Jadon Redding were honored by the conference today, earning Pac-12 Freshman of the Week and Special Teams Player of the Week after their standout performances in Utah's win over Oregon State Saturday night.
Jordan was outstanding against the Beavers on Saturday, racking up a career-high 167 rushing yards on 27 carries (6.2 ypc), scoring his first touchdown as a Ute with a one-yard rushing score in the second quarter. He leads the team in carries (44), rushing yards (296) and all-purpose yards per game (123.3) this season.
He ranks 13th overall (second among freshmen) in the FBS in rushing yards per carry (6.73), and is first among freshmen in the FBS in rushing yards per game (98.7). He has produced four plays of 20 yards or longer this season.

Jordan's 167 rushing yards against Oregon State was the first time a Ute true freshman had rushed for 100 yards in a game since 1995 (Chris Fuamatu-Ma'afala, 108 vs. BYU) and is the most by a true freshman in a game since that same season when Fuamatu-Ma'afala had 180 against Utah State. The Mesquite, Texas, native finished the game with 189 all-purpose yards (167 rush, 22 rec) for his second-straight 100-yard all-purpose game.

Redding was a perfect 3-for-3 on field goals and 3-for-3 on PATs against the Beavers, scoring 12 of Utah's 30 points which included the first nine. Redding knocked in field goals from 20, 27 and 33 yards on Saturday night, tying his career-high in field goals made in a game.
He has three career games with two-or-more field goals in a game. The second-year kicker is now 5-of-5 from 20-29 yards and 7-of-9 from 30-39 yards in his career with 14 total made field goals as a Ute.
